Dr. Benjamin Huelsbergen
Dr. Ben earned a BA in Biology from The University of Chicago in 1991, followed by his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He purchased Turner Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Sally Turner in 1998 and has been the sole Veterinarian at Turner Vet Clinic since 2000. Dr. Ben has had a lifelong passion for animals and always knew he wanted become a veterinarian from a young age. Dr Ben is married to Sara Huelsbergen, LVT – who also works at Turner Vet Clinic. Dr Ben is also Co-Founder (with his wife, Sara) of Froggie's Pond (froggiespond.org) a Non Profit cat sanctuary for cats with FeLV & FIV.
Sara Huelsbergen , LVT
Sara graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 with a BS in Veterinary Technology. She has been the Licensed Veterinary Technician at Turner Veterinary Clinic since 2002. She has been a part of the clinic team since 1998. Sara has always been a passionate advocate for the well being of all animals. She vividly recalls organizing the “Oak Park Animal Club” in grade school with a few friends, helping the stray animals of the neighborhood. This animal advocacy continues to this day in her daily management of Froggie's Pond (froggiespond.org) – a cat sanctuary for cats with Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Sara and Dr. Ben have two daughters – Olivia & Amelia – and a large collection of pets – dogs, cats, horses, birds, tortoises, and fish.
Teresa Washburn – Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Teresa has been with Turner Veterinary Clinic since 2004. She feels that working at Turner Vet is a perfect job since she's always loved animals (especially cats) , getting to work around and with animals every day is a blessing. Teresa also works at Kellogg Community College and has been there since 1991. She feels very lucky to be able to work in two very different jobs which she both loves. Teresa has also been an active supporter and volunteer for Froggie's Pond – always helping with their annual Garage Sale. She feels honored to get to know and love all the cats that have come through Froggie's Pond – past and present. Teresa currently has two dogs and only 11 cats. She is also the proud Grandmother of 10 beautiful grandchildren – 2 boys, 7 girls, and one to be born in June 2016.
Angie Stanton – Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Angie has been with Turner Veterinary Clinic since 2008. Over the years she has discovered a real passion for helping animals. She enjoys helping care for the kitties of Froggie's Pond (especially Oliver). Angie is a proud independent mother of 10. This includes dogs, cats, frogs, and fish. She also likes collecting unique bugs to show off to family and friends.
